- janicekuczkowski[at]gmail.com Janice (Jan) Kuczkowski is a visual artist, curator, and arts-worker, who completed her BA Visual Arts with first class Honours at the Griffith University Queensland College of Art in 2005. In 2006 Jan was the recipient of the Melville Haysom Memorial Art Scholarship administered by the Queensland Art Gallery, and was awarded a Special Commendation in the Harries National Digital Art Awards. Jan’s work has been screened and exhibited nationally in solo and group shows, and internationally at the Orebro International Video Art Festival in Sweden and the International Digital Art Awards in Beijing. Jan’s artwork has predominantly focused on video and photographic portraiture, and the instinctive reactions of the body and one’s limits of tolerance. More recently Jan has turned her camera away from the individual and has been exploring romantic notions of the sublime, subjectivity and the landscape. Jan explores notions of human vulnerability, limitation, and conscious and intuitive reactions.
